Kentucky insider Matt Jones shared some insight on UK’s potential bowl game fits.
Some had questioned whether the Kentucky athletic department would want to play in the Music City Bowl, considering the game would take place at the same time as the Wildcats’ basketball game against Louisville.
However, Matt Jones reports that the basketball game would not be a deterrence for the team. Instead, the selection of Iowa would be the biggest factor, as the selection committee does not want repeat matchups.

Jones also reports that the Music City Bowl would be Kentucky’s 1st choice if the team does not get the Gator Bowl. The Music City Bowl tops the list for the Wildcats due to the proximity for the fanbase. If the Wildcats are selected for the Gator Bowl, they will be taking on an ACC opponent in Jacksonville.
