Kentucky LB Josh Allen hints toward plan for Citrus Bowl
It appears that Kentucky fans will get to see Josh Allen in a Wildcats uniform one more time.
Kentucky’s star linebacker tweeted Friday that “we have unfinished business and my teammates and I plan to bring Citrus Bowl trophy back to Lexington,” an indication that he will suit up for the No. 14 Wildcats against No. 12 Penn State. Below is the image from Allen’s tweet, which features the accolades he piled up this season as well as his message to Big Blue Nation.
One of the nation’s top defenders in his senior year, Allen has improved his draft stack to that of a sure first-round pick. As such, Allen could’ve sat out his team’s bowl game, following a recent trend started by players who hope to protect their health and draft stock.
But the linebacker will apparently play for Kentucky (9-3) against the Nittany Lions (9-3) when the teams meet Jan. 1, 2019, in Orlando, Florida.
