Kentucky has reached out to North Carolina transfer forward Puff Johnson, according to a report.

Per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, the Wildcats are 1 of several programs who have reached out to the former Tar Heel.

Here’s the full list:

Like many within the North Carolina program this season, Johnson is coming off of a disappointing year. He played a bench role for the Tar Heels, scoring 4.1 points in 16 minutes per contest.

Johnson’s biggest contribution while at UNC came in last season’s National Championship Game. He scored 11 points off the bench in Carolina’s narrow loss to Kansas.

Johnson just finished his 3rd season in Chapel Hill. However, he has 2 years of eligibility remaining due to the COVID-19 waiver for 2020-21.

Kentucky’s 2023-24 roster is far from set. The Wildcats are likely to show interest in numerous players in the transfer portal over the next couple months.
