Kentucky landed a commitment from Shaedon Sharpe this past offseason. Sharpe, from Glendale, Arizona, reclassified from the 2022 class into the 2o21 class, where he was the No. 3 overall prospect.

He enrolled at the school for the second semester, and he recently watched Kentucky play while sitting on the bench.

Now, it appears the highly touted freshman could be closer to getting some actual playing time, as the Wildcats announced via Twitter on Thursday that Sharpe would wear the No. 21 jersey:

We’ll see if Sharpe gets any significant playing time for the Wildcats moving forward, or if he’ll have to wait until next year to make his mark in Lexington.

Kentucky plays host to Tennessee on Saturday afternoon.
