Kentucky will have an opportunity to make a statement in its 2020 season opener.

The Wildcats are coming off four straight winning seasons, having made a bowl appearance in each of them. So, expectations are high as they’re ranked No. 23 in the AP Top 25 poll heading into Saturday’s opening game. But they’ll be facing a strong opponent to begin the year in No. 8 Auburn, and they’ll be doing so at a hostile environment at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Not only that, but Kentucky has struggled in the past against Auburn. The Wildcats trail in the all-time series 26-6-1, having lost 17 of the past 18 meetings between the two schools. (Their lone win during that span came in 2009.)

But if Kentucky can pull off the road upset, it could be a huge first step toward having a successful 2020 season.

On Friday, the Wildcats revealed their uniform combination for the season-opening matchup, as they’ll be donning a traditional look — blue helmets, white jerseys and blue pants.
