Kentucky and Louisville haven’t played since the 2020-21 season, the rivalry having been impacted last season.

But, this year, the plan is to get the big game in the Bluegrass State back on track, and this time, the game will be played in Rupp Arena.

Per college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, a date has now been set. The Wildcats and Cardinals are expected to tip off in Lexington on New Year’s Eve:

Kentucky leads the all-time series over Louisville, 37-17. But, the Cardinals won the 2019-20 matchup 62-59 in Louisville.

Who will win this time around? The Wildcats will likely be ranked higher to start the 2022-23 season, but we’ll see where things stand as the calendars prepare to flip to 2023.
