Legendary Lynn: Reaction pouring in about Bowden's remarkable game-winning scoring drive
Each time you think a defense might bottle up sensational Kentucky QB Lynn Bowden Jr., the Wildcats star pulls out something else. This time it was an 18-play, 85-yard game-winning scoring drive over 8 minutes where he connected with Josh Ali for a 13-yard touchdown pass with 15 seconds remaining.
That proved to be the difference in the game, with an extra point tacked on. Then the defense pulled off a scoop and score to pad the lead for a 37-30 victory in the Belk Bowl over Virginia Tech.
Bowden finished with 34 carries for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns, and he went 6-for-12 passing for 73 yards with the TD, and an interception.
Some have already called it one of the best bowl performances ever.
As expected, reaction poured in about Bowden’s heroics:
The dude was a one-man show that Bud Foster and Va Tech knew was a one-man show and the Hokies were powerless to stop him. He wasn’t human. Kept running, kept getting killed, kept running….then….a game-winning TD pass.

Lynn Bowden ran for 230 yards, punched a dude on the other team, spent the entire game furious that his teammates weren’t as good as him, and threw the game winning touchdown. King

Lynn Bowden smacked a big talker in the face before the game, ran for 233 yards, and threw a game winning dagger to end Bud Foster’s career with a loss.
The most savage Wildcat of them all.
