Mark Stoops confirms Kash Daniel’s status for Saturday
The controversy of whether or not Kentucky linebacker Kash Daniel twisted the ankle of Florida quarterback Kyle Trask isn’t going away, but Daniel will play this Saturday against Mississippi State.
Wildcats coach Mark Stoops confirmed Thursday that Daniel will dress and see action in the road SEC matchup.
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops says good week of practice, solid preparation for Mississippi State. Asked about Kash Daniel, Stoops says he has discussed it with SEC league office, and Kash “will be out there Saturday.”

Daniel is at the center of controversy this week because of an incident from last Saturday’s Kentucky-Florida showdown. On one particular play, it appears Daniel attempted to hurt Trask by twisting his ankle after tackling him, but Daniel explained his “hand was struck underneath a lineman’s leg.”
Stoops added that he spoke to Daniel, but is keeping the details of their conversation mostly private.
Stoops also said he has spoken with Kash about the situation (will keep that between them) and they have an understanding in their program that “nobody’s going to try to hurt someone out there.”

However, a new angle of video essentially shows that’s not the case. Watch below:

Regardless, much to the chagrin of Florida fans, Daniel will play in Week 4.
