Mark Stoops is the latest coach to try and defend the two-pronged quarterback attack at Florida. The defensive-minded coach of the Wildcats offered this assessment ahead of his game against the Gators.

“Emory is fantastic and can beat you with his arm and his legs,” Stoops said Wednesday on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “He looks more and more comfortable with every rep. … (With Anthony Richardson), again, you see incredible arm strength, but also a guy who can run through you.”

Speaking about his own offensive star, Stoops explained how Chris Rodriguez is off to a strong start with 522 rushing yards, which leads the SEC, along with 3 touchdowns.

“He’s doing what he always does,” Stoops said. “He’s one of those backs that’s always going forward. Very few negative plays with him. Very good strength and vision. … He’s just continuing to do what he does, and that’s make tough yards.”
