Mark Stoops’ name has come up for possible consideration at multiple jobs around the country recently, most notably LSU and Florida.

The Kentucky coach responded to those reports on Monday at his press conference by saying, “I have no control over that. I don’t want that out there. I don’t want that distraction,” and added that he’s been “nothing but committed” to building Kentucky’s program.

When Bruce Feldman of The Athletic mentioned Stoops as a possible candidate at Florida, he referenced that Stoops won the SEC Coach of the Year in 2018, and is 31-17 in the past 4 years.

Stoops has the Cats at 8-3 this season entering Saturday’s game against Louisville. Stoops has led the Cats to at least a 7-win season in 5 of the last 6 campaigns.
