Mark Stoops knows Kentucky didn’t put forth its best effort in Saturday’s win over Chattanooga. Coming off the big win over Missouri, it could have been described as a let down game. But now the Wildcats go on the road this week to face South Carolina.

“It was one of those games, just aggravating,” Stoops said at his Monday press conference, per Mark Story of the Herald-Leader. “Let them hang around, and if you do that, you can lose a game that way. … It starts with me. I have to do a better job getting them ready to play.”

Stoops added that he was proud of UK offense’s fourth-quarter touchdown drive and the Tyrel Ajian pick-6 that clinched the win.

Stoops also mentioned that there were quite a few good things on film from Saturday, “believe it or not.” But it was mostly a matter of the offense and defense not complementing one another and executing at the same time. A lot to clean up, Stoops adds.
