The Kentucky Wildcats have been waiting a long time to see if transfer big man Olivier Sarr from Wake Forest and transfer guard Jacob Toppin from Rhode Island would be eligible to play this season.
The Wildcats waited as dozens of other players got cleared to play, but nothing was made official on Sarr and Toppin until Wednesday night.
That’s when Sarr and Toppin took to Twitter to reveal they’d been ruled eligible for this coming season, as you can see below:

This is huge news for the Wildcats, who need some veteran experience to go with the incredibly talented group of recruits coming to Lexington.
Last season, Toppin appeared in 30 games for Rhode Island, starting 3 of them. In 18.5 minutes per game, he averaged 5.1 points and 3.9 rebounds.
For Wake Forest, Sarr appeared in 30 games, making 15 starts. In 26.7 minutes per contest, he averaged 13.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
