Rajon Rondo last weekend made a visit to Rupp Arena to participate in the ‘Y’ at midcourt during the Kansas game.

The former Wildcats star, who has since become a 2-time NBA champion, 4-time NBA All-Star after he was an SEC All-Freshman Team selection. He’s reportedly in the mix to return to Lexington in a staff capacity.

After another former player, Tyler Ulis, joined the UK staff to begin his coaching career, and now John Calipari appears to want to do something similar with Rondo.

Kentucky Sports Radio reported that Calipari likes how things have worked out, both sides benefitting tremendously from the move. It’s led him to begin working toward adding yet another student assistant to the mix in Rondo.

Rondo is taking classes at UK, and spending time around the basketball program.
