Ray Davis’ historic season continued Saturday night, and now the Wildcats’ running back joins some elite company.

Davis scored in the first half on a 7-yard run, giving him his 8th touchdown in as many games.

With the 8th touchdown, Davis becomes the first Kentucky player to score in 8-straight games since legendary wide receiver Randall Cobb did it in 2009.

In that 2009 season, Cobb finished the season with 10 touchdowns. With the way Davis has been playing this season, he could be well on his way to surpassing that number.

Cobb has been one of the best running backs in the SEC this season, logging 781 yards to go along with his 8 touchdowns. He’s looking for a big game against the Vols on Saturday night.

Saturday’s contest between Tennessee and Kentucky will certainly be a battle of the running backs. Tennessee also boasts one of the best running backs in the SEC with Jaylen Wright.
