With Lane Kiffin reportedly on the move to Ole Miss, Florida Atlantic is back in the market for a head coach. College football insider Bruce Feldman is reporting that FAU may look to one of Kiffin’s former assistants, Kentucky offensive coordinator Eddie Gran.

Feldman tweeted Saturday morning that fans can “expect” Gran and former Miami OC Jedd Fisch “to get serious consideration for the FAU job.”

Gran, a long-time assistant, is experienced in recruiting the Sunshine State, which could make him a good fit for the Owls. Gran and Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops previously worked together on the Florida State staff before Stoops took the UK job. Gran also memorably helped Kiffin recruit South Florida for the Volunteers.

It has been reported that Gran’s offensive system was a big draw for Auburn transfer QB Joey Gatewood, who committed to Kentucky this week.

At this point, Kiffin to Ole Miss is not yet official, but after Saturday’s Conference USA Championship Game, it’s expected that the FAU job will officially come open. With the Early Signing Period fast approaching, the school will be working to find a new coach soon.
