Recently, there have been rumors about Kentucky G Quade Green’s future with the Wildcats, but on Monday, those questions were put to rest.

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Hamidou Diallo heading off to the NBA, there are going to be some openings in the Kentucky backcourt next season.

According to Kentucky.com, Green’s mom — Tamika Johnson — said the rising sophomore would be returning to Lexington for the 2018-19 campaign:

On Monday, Johnson said her son had decided to remain at UK.

Green started 13 games for the Wildcats last season, but eventually lost his starting job to Gilgeous-Alexander, who played so well he’s now a potential first-round NBA Draft pick.

He’ll be a strong favorite to be the Wildcats’ starting point guard this fall, though, so he could be the next first-round guard coached by John Calipari.
