From a national angle, the last couple of days have been filled with bad news — particularly because of the events that took place in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

At times like these, it’s always good to see positive stories on the news feed. Thankfully, we’ve got SEC football.

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and quarterback Stephen Johnson visited a young fan in the hospital on Tuesday. The boy, Dalton, received a signed Kentucky football.

It’s usually fans who try to lift the spirit of teams, but in this case, it’s Kentucky lifting the spirit of a fan.

“Words can’t describe the family’s gratitude. #MyCoach #MyQB,” the child’s uncle, Freddie Maggard of Kentucky Sports Radio, tweeted.

It’s always nice to see this type of kindness on display from SEC coaches and players.
