Self-destructing: Fans, media react to Kentucky's long list of mistakes at Alabama
Kentucky seemed to have Murphy’s Law and then some in the first half. The Wildcats had two dropped interceptions, including one that also had a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty with it, and that came after a botched field goal snap.
Later in the first half, the Wildcats had another botched field goal attempt that went wide right after another bad snap.
That combination is not a recipe to upset the No. 1 team in the land on the road at Alabama.
Alabama held a 28-3 halftime lead in a game that was 7-3 at the beginning of the second quarter.
Here’s a collection of the reaction to UK’s first half from fans and media:
You have to play a perfect game to have a chance to beat Alabama. Theres absolutely no room for mistakes, and Kentucky has now made two rookie mistakes.

Kentucky is COSTING. Cannot give Alabama these opportunities.

Kentucky is just choking this game even though we have no shot, so many mistakes, missed opportunities. Why not go for it on 4th and Goal, we don’t have a shot at beating Alabama kicking field goals, if we can even do that. #Kentucky #Bama #ukvsbama

You cannot make mistakes against this Alabama team. Especially if you’re Kentucky. Tide 14-3, 10:12 2Q

That’s two passes that should’ve been intercepted by Kentucky so far. Forced that one.

Bad snap on the field goal attempt. Can’t do that in any game, but especially this one. Opportunity wasted.

No way UK wins with mistakes like that.

Kentucky talking about self destructing on field goals. Geez this would be a good game if not for that

Alabama isn’t beating Kentucky this half, Kentucky is beating themselves!
— Coach Kose (@CoachKose) November 21, 2020
Field goals, bad snaps, & shanked kicks won’t get it done, Kentucky!!!

Alabama MVP: Kentucky’s long snapper

#Kentucky… what in the blue hell are you doing? Did Stoops lay the points with Bama or something? Atrocious.
— IrishFaninMD (@IrishFanInMD) November 21, 2020
Never believed I’d see the day where Kentucky is playing Alabama and beating itself instead of getting torn apart by the Tide
— Cameron Newton (@morrisoncrying) November 21, 2020
Kentucky doing everything right on Offense except scoring
Which to be fair, is important
— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) November 21, 2020
Personal foul penalty would have negated that interception anyway, but a lot of “old Kentucky” stuff going on right now.
