Kentucky running back Benny Snell Jr. has plenty of confidence heading into the Wildcats’ upcoming Music City Bowl game against Northwestern.

Snell and a host of teammates — CJ Conrad, Mike Edwards, Courtney Love, Lynn Bowden and Austin MacGinnis — showed up during the Kentucky basketball game at Rupp Arena on Saturday to talk to the crowd in attendance.

That’s where Snell guaranteed a UK victory over the Big 10’s version of Wildcats.

“Hopefully y’all are tuned in. We’re going bowling,” he said. “We’re going to Nashville, and we’re going to get this W. I promise.”

Those may be strong words, and they may provide some bulletin board for Northwestern. But if anybody can back up a claim like that, it’s Snell.

The sophomore running back has rushed for over 1,300 yards this season to go along with 18 touchdowns on the ground. He’s firmly cemented himself as one of the SEC’s very best RBs.

If Kentucky can beat Northwestern, it will finish the season at 8-5. That would be its best record since 2007.
