WATCH: Former UK LB Danny Trevathan has one of the cheapest, dirtiest hits of the year
By Kevin Duffey
Published:
Former Kentucky (and current Chicago Bears) LB Danny Trevathan absolutely crushed Green Bay WR Davante Adams Thursday night.
And it was a dirty hit, too.
Third and goal from the 16, the Packers took the snap and Aaron Rodgers completed the pass to Adams. While Adams was being brought down, Trevathan came in with the crown of his helmet and put a vicious hit on Adams. You can see from the video that Adams’ neck snapped back and his mouthpiece went flying.
Adams appeared to be knocked out on the play, and he left the field on a stretcher.
Trevathan, meanwhile, was penalized on the play, but he wasn’t ejected.
The play came late in the third quarter with the Packers up 21-7 over the Bears.

Following the hit, Trevathan was hammered on social media, with many calling for a suspension:
Danny Trevathan better get a game check taken from him. That was as cheap and dirty a hit as you will see.

Tony Romo is, rightfully, crushing #Bears LB Danny Trevathan for that hit on Davante Adams. No place for that.

Danny Trevathan should not play a day in this league again.
