Former Kentucky standout Keldon Johnson had to wait longer than expected to hear his name called in the 2019 NBA Draft. However, he was still selected with the No. 29 overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs.

Now, he lands with a team that is known for developing players, and he gets to work with a legendary coach in Gregg Popovich.

On Tuesday, Johnson showed just how good he can be, drilling this long-range, half-court shot to end the third quarter of the Spurs’ Summer League game against Memphis:

That shot extended the Spurs lead to 77-62 at the end of the third quarter. Johnson has played well so far, showing why he was a first-round pick.

We won’t expect half-court shots from Johnson every game, but this is a good start for the rookie out of Kentucky.
