The NFL Draft is exactly three months away on April 23, and many former SEC players will hear their names called early during the event, including LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

The Heisman Trophy winner burst onto the scene in 2019 after a mediocre 2018 campaign. Burrow broke numerous LSU and SEC passing records this season en route to winning the coveted Heisman. Burrow was regarded as a draftable quarterback heading into 2019; however, his meteoric rise has been unlike many have seen in recent history.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter hasn’t been totally convinced the Bengals would be the team selecting the No. 1 overall pick, as the team could opt to trade the pick. However, now, he’s singing a different tune. Schefter joined ESPN’s “Get Up” Thursday morning, and he guaranteed the Bengals will draft Burrow No. 1 overall.

“I’m telling you, they’re holding onto the pick, and they’re going to pick Joe Burrow at No. 1,” Schefter said on the show.

It’s unclear what current quarterback — and the team’s all-time winningest signal caller — Andy Dalton’s future will be. He has one year remaining on his contract. However, Schefter is for certain that Burrow’s future is in Cincinnati.
