Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that the UCF Knights went undefeated last season, beating Auburn in the Peach Bowl and claiming a national championship in the aftermath.

Now, as the Knights prepare for Tuesday’s Fiesta Bowl against LSU, they once again are undefeated and are again eyeing a “championship.”

However, when asked about those claims, LSU LB Devin White had some strong words, calling last year’s title claim by UCF “one of the most embarrassing things” he’s seen (via The Advocate):

Asked Saturday if he had seen quotes from his teammates Friday that UCF was coming into Tuesday’s Fiesta Bowl against LSU to try to win another national championship, the Tigers’ All-American linebacker said, “Man, I hope not. That’s one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen.

“It’s great media coverage for them. That’s all I know they’re looking at it is, as a media stunt.”

The best thing the Tigers could do to stop the Knights from claiming another title is, of course, to beat them in the Fiesta Bowl.

That highly anticipated showdown kicks off at 1 p.m. Eastern time on New Year’s Day and can be seen on ESPN.
