Brian Kelly confirmed Monday afternoon that standout receivers Brian Thomas Jr and Malik Nabers will play in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin.

This news comes just after Jayden Daniels announced Monday that he will opt out of the bowl to prepare for the NFL Draft. Daniels, according to Kelly, is the only player who will opt out for LSU aside from transfers.

Daniels’ news is not exactly surprising. The Heisman winner had a stellar 2023 season and there’s no reason to risk his draft stock for a slightly above average SEC bowl game.

Both Nabers and Thomas are highly likely to officially declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Nabers missed out on the Biletnikoff for reasons that some around SEC country are still trying to figure out. The LSU wideout was statistically the best receiver in college football. Thomas, incredibly, was not far behind him.

Nabers finished the regular season having totaled 86 receptions for 1,546 yards and 14 touchdowns. Thomas finished with 60 receptions for 1,079 yards and 15 touchdowns.
