Brian Kelly arrived in Baton Rouge on Tuesday afternoon as the new LSU football coach. We now know officially what LSU will be paying Kelly to coach the Tigers.

LSU has sent out the term sheet to media members. The term sheet shows that Kelly will start out making $9 million. Kelly’s salary will go up over the years, while he’ll also pick up annual $500,000 longevity bonuses every year he is retained. If let go, Kelly’s buyout depends on if he has won a national championship (100 percent of the remaining deal) or not (90 percent). If Kelly leaves LSU, the program is owed $4 million before Dec. 31, 2022, and $2 million after that date.
