Brian Kelly downplays impact of playing under the lights in Tiger Stadium
Brian Kelly went on the Paul Finebaum Show on Monday and discussed LSU’s upcoming matchup against Alabama.
It was announced earlier in the day that LSU will host the Crimson Tide under the lights in primetime on Nov. 9. While a night game at Tiger Stadium is always a premier college football atmosphere, Kelly downplayed the impact it will have on the game itself.
“These games right now, they take care of themselves,” Kelly said. “Whether you play them at noon, or 2, or 3, or 6, or 7 … we’re so far along in the season, the teams take care of it. They take care of what these games should look like in terms of how they’re played, the action on the field and, really, the outcomes. So the time is immaterial to me at this point.”

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin has a different view on the matter. Kiffin expressed his frustration during his weekly press conference on Monday that LSU is getting another conference night game. Ole Miss, who won’t play a home SEC game in prime time this season, will face Georgia during the afternoon in Week 11 rather than under the lights in Oxford.
LSU is off in Week 10. The Tigers and Tide will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC on Nov. 9.

Tiger Stadium Meh
Obviously, you’ve never been there at night. It makes a difference. And for that matter, Neyland and everywhere in the conference.
