Brian Kelly saw Jayden Daniels turn a corner at Florida last week, as the LSU quarterback continues to digest the offense and become more comfortable in it.

“I think just assertiveness,” Kelly said Wednesday on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “He’s in a new offense. He’s starting to see things more clearly. Confidence level with his receivers. … The passing game takes a little longer (to learn). I think we’re seeing a connection with his receivers. The timing’s coming together.”

After Jack Bech muffed a punt against Florida, which led to a touchdown, Kelly explained the latest plans at punt return.

“Jack was out there yesterday, but he is day-to-day,” Kelly said. “We are going to continue to use him and Greg Clayton back there.”

Major Burns, who is dealing with a neck injury, is still involved.

“Major Burns practiced in non-contact,” Kelly said. “He’s on the scout team. He looks really good. This is now just a matter of waiting from a medical perspective.”
