Brian Kelly and N0. 14 LSU improved to 2-1 on the season with a 41-14 victory at Mississippi State in Week 3. The LSU head coach shared his film room perspective on a couple key plays from Saturday with LSU Sports Radio Network sideline reporter Gordy Rush.

Kelly breaks down Jayden Daniels’ 33-yard touchdown pass to Malik Nabers in the 2nd quarter that put LSU ahead 17-0.

Kelly gives credit to Daniels for his awareness of finding the matchup he wants and standing tall against the rush.

“He knows that he’s got man-to-man and immediately he looks to No. 8…Here comes the pressure. Throws a perfect ball to the outside shoulder of Malik,” Kelly said. “That’s the big thing. Quarterbacks have a tendency maybe to shy away from this. He knew that he was going to get hit. He stays in there, take a hit, delivers the ball…That’s a recognition of finding the guy that you want to get.”

Then Kelly provides analysis on a jet sweep that LSU’s defense snuffed out. LSU held Mississippi State to just 201 total yards.

“You can see Harold [Perkins Jr.] sets the edge. It allows Andre’ Sam to run the alley,” Kelly said. “You’ve got a perfect execution on handling the handoff sweep.”

LSU will aim to make it 3 straight victories when they host Arkansas in Week 4.
