Brian Kelly took a moment during a press conference on Wednesday to speak directly to Jaray Jenkins about leadership.

“That’s a good question,” Kelly said. “I wish he would take more of a leadership role. Are you hearing me, Jaray, can he hear me? He’ll hear me won’t he. We need that leadership, and it comes from consistency. Will he hear that too? I think so. That’s what we’re looking for, what we saw today. Consistency, every single day, being the same guy. He’s a great kid, we just need that every single day. If we can get that every day, that room will be in good shape.”

Jenkins is a 6-foot-2 and 200 pound wide receiver. Last season, Jenkins continued to improve his production, from 5 catches as a freshman to 34 a year ago, and that was his best season of his career, as he also had 502 yards and 6 TDs. In his career, he’s played in 30 games with 13 starts.

In his career, Jenkins has 62 career receptions for 966 yards and 8 TDs.
