Cameron Wire is staying close to home for his next college football destination.

The former LSU offensive lineman, a Gonzales, La. native and a member of the Tigers’ roster for 5 seasons, announced on his Instagram account on Tuesday that he had committed to Tulane. He joins a Green Wave program that is in the midst of its most successful season in years, winning 11 games including the AAC championship against UCF and preparing to face USC in the Cotton Bowl Classic.

Wire played in a total of 26 games for the Tigers, starting 11. He only managed to play 4 times and claimed just 1 start in 2022. He saw the bulk of his playing time in 2020, where he played in 9 games and started 6.

Now, Wire will continue his college journey about 90 minutes from Baton Rouge in New Orleans, in hopes of carving out a role for himself in Willie Fritz’s offensive line room in 2023.
