Christian Brathwaite, a 3-star linebacker out of Cypress, Texas, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Brathwaite, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, announced a commitment to play at LSU as he has a reported 8 offers, including Baylor, where he was committed, and Cal. He’s rated the No. 40 linebacker in the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 73 player in the state of Texas.

LSU hosted Brathwaite for an unofficial visit on Saturday for the Tigers’ victory over Ole Miss. Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Matt House led the charge on the recruiting front with an assist from assistant director of player personnel Mike Ferrara, Geaux247 reported.

Brathwaite is LSU’s 23rd commitment and joins a class ranked No. 7 on the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
