The Cleveland Browns officially moved Greedy Williams to injured reserve in a roster move that followed the former LSU star suffering a hamstring injury.
Williams will miss the first 4 games of the season, and coach Kevin Stefanski said, “It’s unfortunate, and I feel bad for Greedy.”
Williams was drafted by the Browns in the second round (46th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft.
The former star cornerback at LSU, Williams was a 2018 Thorpe Award finalist, 2018 first team All-American from Walter Camp and 2017-18 first team All-SEC selection. He was the first LSU player since Craig Steltz in 2007 to lead the SEC in interceptions after he made 6 in 2017.
Williams started 12 games as a rookie and logged 47 tackles with 2 passes defensed, but also missed the 2020 season with a shoulder injury. Last season, he started 8 games, and appeared in 16. He made 88 tackles and 2 interceptions.
