The trade to Cleveland appears like it is going to pay off for Jarvis Landry, literally.

One of the NFL’s most prolific receivers since entering the league in 2014, he’s registered 400 catches for 4,038 yards and 22 touchdowns since that time, Miami traded the former LSU standout to Cleveland for two draft picks (2018 fourth-rounder plus a seventh-round pick in 2019) in March.

Now the Browns plan to keep their recently-acquired receiver happy and in the fold for the foreseeable future as NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that Landry will be given a five-year extension worth $47 million in guarantees.

This move seems to suggest the Browns will select a quarterback early in the upcoming draft and wish to surround the player with at least one premiere talent on the outside.
