Cooper Kupp had an incredible season for the Los Angeles Rams last year, helping the team win the Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kupp led the NFL with 145 catches for 1,947 yards and also led the league with 16 touchdown grabs and 114.5 yards per game.

Meanwhile, former LSU star WR Justin Jefferson is perhaps the best young receiver in the game. He recorded 108 catches for 1,616 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2021, his second year with the Minnesota Vikings.

Recently, Jefferson called Davante Adams the best receiver in the NFL, but said he thinks he’ll be the best by the end of the 2022 season. He added that he believes he’s already better than Kupp.

Kupp was asked about those comments recently and disagreed (via Pro Football Talk):

“I respect his opinion and I can also respectfully disagree,” Kupp said.

But, Kupp also added that he loves the confidence the young former LSU receiver is showing in himself:

“I would hope he would say that,” Kupp said. “I think that’s the beauty of this game. I think it speaks to the competitiveness of this league. If you’re not putting yourself as the best, and you’re not working to be the best, then I’d be concerned about stepping on the field with you, if you don’t feel like you’ve prepared to be the best player that you can be.”

We’ll see who puts up better numbers this fall. But, one thing is for sure — defenses won’t enjoy going up against either Kupp or Jefferson in 2022.
