Washington fans can finally breathe, Derrius Guice does not have a torn ACL.

The rookie from LSU has incredible expectations entering his first NFL season and he lived up to the hype during his professional debut on Thursday evening. Despite his solid debut, it was ended prematurely with an injury that appeared to be potentially devastating.

Thankfully, the worst fears of Washington fans appear to be overblown as Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that Guice only has a sprained MCL. Many fans thought Guice may have torn his ACL against the Patriots on Thursday.

During his three years in Baton Rouge, Guice racked up an incredible 3,074 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground. Those numbers came despite the fact Guice had to split time with Leonard Fournette for two seasons with the Tigers.

If you missed Guice’s debut, here are the highlights from his first NFL action. Don’t be surprised if Guice shuts it down for the remainder of the preseason and saves his legs for the regular season.
