Double it: LSU’s Jello shot tally continues to skyrocket at CWS

The Rocco’s Pizza Jello shot challenge has become a staple of the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
The challenge is exactly as it sounds. For $5 a pop, college baseball fans can have a little fun in Omaha while also adding to their specific team’s shot tally. Trends have emerged (what an awful performance by Stanford and Virginia!) and Ole Miss’ tally of over 18,000 stood on top of the mountain as the record after a few years of the challenge.
But just under a week ago, LSU Tiger fans shattered Ole Miss’ record of 18,777. And now, because the Tigers are still standing in the title series against Florida, they’re adding some insurance to their record.
As of the start of Game 1 of the title series, LSU’s tally sits at 37,695, 2 times what Ole Miss’ was last season. Reminder: LSU still has at least 1 more day in Omaha, perhaps 2. We’re very likely to see the total eclipse 40k or higher in the coming days.

The Tigers are off to a good start against No. 2 Florida so far to start the title series. LSU hopped to an early 1-0 lead and retains that lead entering the top of the 2nd inning.
Buckle up, folks. This is bound to be a fun one.
