LSU coach Ed Orgeron was especially energetic following the 46-41 victory over Alabama on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.

Still on the field after the big win, which ended an eight-game losing streak in the series, Orgeron declared, “Right here in the middle of the damn field, because this is our house from now on, Tigers on three, one, two three, Tigers!”

It was a dramatic turnaround from the previous five meetings where LSU scored a combined 39 points.

It was a festive scene as QB Joe Burrow was carried off the field by teammates after he was 31-for-39 passing and ran for 64 yards.

LSU had to hold off an Alabama comeback after the 33-13 halftime margin as the Crimson Tide pulled within a touchdown three times.

The top-tier showdown of heavyweight teams lived up to its billing as they were ranked among the best teams in America by multiple polls.

While LSU is no longer second fiddle in the SEC West, at least this season, Burrow also planted himself atop the Heisman Trophy conversation as the season winds down and LSU is expected to reach the SEC Championship Game.
