Spring football is underway for the LSU Tigers, and Ed Orgeron met with the media for the first time Thursday evening.
It’s clear Coach O is fired up about his offense. With Steve Ensminger calling plays and the addition of assistant Joe Brady, Orgeron explained that 2019’s offense is different from last season.
“The addition of Joe Brady and the way him and Steve Ensminger are working is fantastic,” Orgeron said. “This is a new offense from last year. You’re going to see it. We spread the ball around in different formations. I thought they were on fire today.”
Veteran signal caller Joe Burrow returns in 2019, too, and Orgeron explained how the emergence of backup Myles Brennan could have an impact on the play-calling.
“We’re going to run (Burrow) more,” Orgeron said. “We couldn’t run him at the beginning of the year because Myles was hurt. I want to play Myles next year. I think Myles is going to be a great quarterback. I think all those things will help.”
With a returning signal caller, the LSU offense should be miles ahead of where it was last year at this time. It appears things are right on schedule for the Tigers.
