Ed Orgeron explains why he's finishing 2021 season at LSU, discusses future plans
LSU still has a number of big games on its schedule, but in the short term the recently made decision that Ed Orgeron will be out as the Tigers’ head coach at season’s end continues to dominate the headlines.
Orgeron, however, is tired of talking about his status.
He wants to concentrate on football and his last LSU team.
“This is our team,” Orgeron said Wednesday during the SEC’s weekly coaches teleconference. “I wanted to finish it out. Our AD wanted me to finish it out. The focus now is on Ole Miss and really not much has changed.”

As for what might be next for the 60-year-old coach, Orgeron said Wednesday that he plans to take next season off to spend time with his family and he’ll reevaluate things after that.
Ed Orgeron asked about coaching next year or in the future…
Say's he's definitely taking next year off to spend time with his family. After that, he doesn't know for sure.#LSU
