Ed Orgeron provides update on LSU QB battle, names a position that 'remains thin'
The LSU Tigers have to bounce back in 2021 after a lackluster finish to the 2020 season. This Saturday, the Tigers will have their spring game, and many fans will be watching closely.
Atop many fans’ lists of intriguing storylines is the QB battle between Max Johnson, Myles Brennan and TJ Finley.
But, don’t expect that to be solved on Saturday. On Tuesday night, coach Ed Orgeron reiterated that there is no starting quarterback right now:
Ed Orgeron: "There is no starting quarterback" right now.
The first snap of spring football "really didn't matter." Orgeron gave it to Max Johnson for winning the final two games. Could've been Myles Brennan. The competition is ongoing. #LSU

So, it sounds like we shouldn’t read too much into who takes first-team reps at QB on Saturday.
One other position of interest is running back, where Coach O said there’s a major lack of depth behind John Emery, who won’t scrimmage this weekend:
Ed Orgeron says running back remains thin. John Emery won't scrimmage still. So, looks like Saturday will be about more of the passing game. #LSU

Can the Tigers develop some depth in the running game? We’ll see if anyone stands out on Saturday.
