Saying LSU came up short on Saturday night is a grotesque misuse of words.

The Tigers got clobbered 37-7 on Saturday night in their 2017 SEC opener, giving Mississippi State its biggest win in the series. Bulldogs quarterback Nick Fitzgerald carved up LSU’s secondary, scoring four total touchdowns on the night.

The majority of fans blame the head coach for the defeat. Ed Orgeron would be the punching bag LSU fans pin the blame on in this situation.

For Orgeron, that’s fine with him.

One part “Coach O” will dissect, is the two targeting penalties that disqualified two of his players in the third quarter. He knows how big those sequences were for his football team.

Orgeron knows there are a lot of games to be played, meaning more time he and his team can improve.
