The LSU defense struggled in 2020, but that wasn’t the fault of star CB Eli Ricks.
Ricks put together a season in which he was named a third-team All-American, snagging 4 interceptions and returning 2 for touchdowns. He also had 20 tackles and 5 pass breakups.
But, on Tuesday, coach Ed Orgeron said Ricks is expected to miss most of the spring with an injury, though he did say Ricks could possibly return late in the spring session:
Star #LSU cornerback Eli Ricks will likely miss most of spring practice with an injury, Ed Orgeron said. The third-team All-American ranked eighth nationally with four picks, two he returned for touchdowns in 2020.https://t.co/sIib7mld7D

Ricks was a 5-star cornerback in the 2020 class. The California native was the No. 2 corner in the class and the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of California, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
Now, we’ll see how long he’s out. Coach O said he hopes to at least have Ricks back for the summer session.
