Ed Orgeron is looking for improvements on offense for LSU, and he went along with an idea that former offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger could increase his involvement with the program.

“That’s a good idea,” Orgeron said of Ensminger helping Jake Peetz in the coaches box during games.

Orgeron said Ensminger already gives advice some, but more as a consultant, per Brody Miller.

Ensminger retired from an on-field coaching capacity, but still works with the program in a consultant/analyst role. Ensminger and Joe Brady as passing game coordinator were given much of the credit for LSU’s success on offense in the 2019 national championship season.

Ensminger, who retired at the end of last season, has a long history at LSU. Ensminger was on the Tigers’ staff since 2010 and had been OC since 2018. The Baton Rouge native played quarterback for the Tigers from 1976-79.
