LSU quarterback Myles Brennan missed the Tigers’ most recent game against South Carolina with a lower-body injury. He was replaced by true freshman TJ Finley, who finished with a respectable stat line in a blowout win over the Gamecocks.

And it appears that Brennan will not return for Saturday’s game against Auburn, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.

“Talking to (director of athletic training) Jack (Marucci), he feels he’ll be back and ready to go vs. Alabama,” Orgeron said. “But we’re not sure yet. He hasn’t practiced this week, but he’s getting better.”

That means that Brennan will have a good deal of time to recover and get back to full strength. After Saturday, LSU has an open week, returning to the field to host the Crimson Tide on Nov. 14 in Baton Rouge.

Brennan had performed well before his injury, completing just over 60 percent of his passes for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns versus 3 interceptions. In his last game, Oct. 10 against Missouri, he was 29-of-48 for 430 yards and 4 touchdowns.
