Ed Orgeron updates Leonard Fournette's status after Southern Miss game
A big storyline this week to watch will be whether or not LSU running back Leonard Fournette will return against Ole Miss.
The Tigers’ talented back has been ailing from an ankle injury this season. He suffered a high ankle sprain during the second week of camp and has since re-injured that ankle twice — against Wisconsin and against Auburn.
When asked about Fournette’s status after the win over Southern Miss, Orgeron said he thinks Fournette will play next week against the Rebels.
O on Fournette to play vs. Ole Miss: "We think he can play. Think he's going to play, but I'm not a doctor." #LSU

Prior to the Southern Miss game, Orgeron said things were taking a little bit longer than expected with Fournette.
“No, he’s not ready. He’s just not ready,” Orgeron said last week. “It’s taking a little longer than we thought. I’m sure if he’d be ready, he’d be playing. He’s not ready to even practice right now.”
Regardless if Fournette returns or not, LSU’s running game looks in great hands with backup Derrius Guice.
