For the second year in a row, former LSU CB Jalen Collins has been hit with a suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing substances. This time it’s for more than half the regular season.

The Atlanta Falcons announced Sunday that Collins will be suspended for the team’s first 10 games without pay. Last year, Collins was suspended four games for a PED violation.

“We are extremely disappointed that for the second straight season we are dealing with a suspension for Jalen,” Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said in a statement. “Such are the consequences when certain choices are made. Our decisions going forward will be based on what Dan and I feel is best for the team.”

A second-round draft pick in 2015, Collins played in eight games for the Falcons last season, starting six. In his shortened season, Collins recorded 28 tackles, two interceptions and broke up 10 passes. Collins can continue to participate in the preseason and will be eligible to return to the active roster in the regular season on following the Nov. 21 game.
