House got his start in the college rank before taking an assistant special teams coach position with the Carolina Panthers in 2008. After a season with the Panthers, he was a defensive quality control coach with the St. Louis Rams from 2009-11.

In 2012, House went back to college, joining Pittsburgh’s staff as a secondary coach. He was the defensive coordinator at Pittsburgh (2013-14) and FIU (2015) before joining Mark Stoops’ Kentucky staff as inside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator in 2016.

Stoops promoted House to Kentucky’s coordinator in 2017. House continued coaching inside linebackers while he was the defensive coordinator for the 2017 and ’18 seasons.

House went back to the pros in 2019, joining the Kansas City Chiefs staff as linebackers coach. He was with the Chiefs for three seasons, picking up a ring for the club’s Super Bowl LIV win.

Brian Kelly made House the defensive coordinator on his first LSU staff. After Year 2, however, Kelly parted ways with House and other defensive assistants as part of a staff makeover for 2024.
