Former LSU LB Devin White reportedly requests trade from Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Former LSU LB Devin White has been a staple for Tampa Bay since joining the Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, White is reportedly looking to land a trade away from the franchise heading toward the 2023 season.
According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine, White has requested a trade with the Buccaneers. Adam Schefter also reported on the news but indicated Tampa Bay is currently unwilling to move the star linebacker.
Schefter also reported White’s desire for a trade stems from his 5th-year option coming up.

Bucs’ Pro Bowl LB Devin White has in fact requested a trade, as @JennaLaineESPN reported. Bucs do not want to trade him, but he wants to be traded as he is coming up on his fifth-year option.

White has been a key piece for the Buccaneers since entering the league, including a career-high 140 tackles during the 2020 Super Bowl-winning season for Tampa Bay. He has 3 straight seasons with at least 120 tackles and 483 career tackles in 4 NFL seasons.
With White entering his age-25 season and already an elite defender, any trade to acquire the linebacker would likely require a premium price tag. We’ll see if any team is able to meet the price that would make Tampa Bay willing to move White.
