Former Notre Dame starting RB announces transfer to LSU
LSU added a big one out of the transfer portal Tuesday.
Former Notre Dame starting running back Logan Diggs announced Tuesday that he will return to his home state of Louisiana, committing to (and reuniting with) Brian Kelly and LSU. He chose the Tigers over a late push from South Carolina.
Diggs was born in Boutte, Louisiana and committed to Notre Dame as a high 3-star prospect. He’s spent the past 2 seasons in South Bend and had a stellar sophomore season, totaling 822 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Fighting Irish. He averaged just under 5 yards per rush in 2022 and will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.

Louisiana online sports betting is officially live in much of the state. Louisiana joined the handful of other SEC football states with legalized sports betting in January 2022.
He proved to be a capable receiver, too. Diggs caught a pair of touchdown passes with over 200 receiving yards for the Fighting Irish out of the backfield.

Diggs’ addition is a good get for a LSU RB room that has battle some injuries this offseason. Both Josh Williams and Armoni Goodwin are nursing knee injuries they suffered last season, especially Williams.
Noah Cain is another option that could be an important piece this season for LSU. The 5-11 bruiser totaled 409 yards and 10 touchdowns last season for LSU after transferring from Penn State.
That’s interesting. I’m thinking Kelly is not relying on Emery and probably not relying on Goodwin. Or it could be simply that he had a few scholarships to spare, so why not bring in Diggs. At this point, I think those extra scholarships are not doing any good.
At this point I think they’re up to 81 scholarships, I may be off a couple though. With the injuries in the RB room I get adding another guy, especially a LA kid who also has experience in CBK’s system.
With 15 commits in the 2024 class already I think this is the last year we’re below the 85, Geaux Tigers!
I just started 3 weeks ago and got 2 checks totaling $15,000…best decision I’ve made in a long time! “Thank you for giving me u34 this great opportunity to earn extra money from home.

Smart signing. Plus local ties to New Orleans. Given the pieces parts of running backs, this kid may very well start this year.
… now if LSU could finish up with one more cornerback and a kicker!
I like the signing. We may now lead the country with the number of average ish backs we have on the roster. I’m hoping one or two can separate themselves from the pack.
Cain can be our bellcow back. Diggs can be the versatile back who can get the job done running and receiving.
Let Williams and Goodwin continue to make sure they’re 100% and Kelly can begin working in meaningful game reps for Holly and Jackson.
