Confidence goes a long way.

And former LSU Tiger and National Championship winner Justin Jefferson is oozing confidence heading into his third season in the NFL. He’s catapulted himself into the top of discussions for the league’s most talented young star after two magnificent years with the Minnesota Vikings.

But he’s aiming higher.

“I’ll say after this year I’ll be the best receiver in the NFL,” Jefferson told Complex. “I definitely have to give it to Davante Adams as of now, him being so crazy and dynamic on the field. His route running is crazy, so I definitely have to give it to him right now, but I’m pretty sure after this year, it’s going to be me.”

And it’s not completely unfounded. Jefferson had one of the better rookie years for a wide receiver ever, catching 88 passes for 1400 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2020. This sits alone atop Vikings and Super Bowl Era NFL record books, surpassing Anquan Boldin’s 1,377 yards set in 2003. He one-upped that number in his second year, totaling 1,616 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Will year 3 put him on top of the NFL wide receiver hierarchy with Adams, Cooper Kupp and DeAndre Hopkins?

It’s a done deal as far as he’s concerned.
